Skill Club Assignment
Mean Personalities in Literature
For my Skill Club Pakistan assignment, we had to write sentences using vocabulary words for different "mean" personality traits. I decided to use characters from books I’ve read....except for the last sentence. That one I made up myself.
Here’s what I wrote:
Condescending – Sherlock Holmes is highly intelligent. He can solve mysteries quickly and think of great plans to catch criminals. But he also talks down to people of average intelligence. He is impatient with anyone not as clever as him. This makes Holmes a condescending man.
Untrustworthy – Saruman is an untrustworthy person. He betrayed the people of Middle-earth. But Sauron knew of Saruman’s untrustworthy nature, so he didn’t let him steal the Ring...because he knew Saruman planned to keep it for himself.
Self-centered – Petunia Dursley wanted to be as normal as possible, just like her neighbors. She is very jealous and self-absorbed. She is a great example of a self-centered person.
Judgmental – Harry Potter often judges people by what they do. He is very critical as well, but he keeps his judgmental thoughts to himself.
Jealous – Basta is jealous of Dustfinger. Basta is very envious of Dustfinger’s magical powers and good looks.
Dismissive – Severus Snape dismisses his students. He is very dismissive toward Hermione, calling her an insufferable know-it-all. He even dismisses her when her teeth start growing too fast and become very large.
Stubborn – Jill Pole is very stubborn at the start of The Silver Chair. She is quick to blame others, but eventually she learns from her mistakes and becomes a brave adventurer.
Spiteful – Rita Skeeter writes humiliating articles about others. She is a spiteful journalist. She writes those articles out of spite and profit.
Deceptive – He had lied and told everyone that the diamond was fake, but his friend knew that he was a deceptive man.
Which character from this list would you least want to be stuck in a room with? I'll pass on Rita Skeeter (my reputation would never recover). Comments are yours!"

ReplyDeleteooh.. I hate her
DeleteI'd pick Sherlock Holmes because, although he's condescending, he'd be far more interesting and less dangerous than most of the others on the list.
ReplyDeleteAhh..one of my favourite Characters๐
